| Das waren wirklich wunderschöne Urlaubstage in der grünen Provence. Von dem mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichteten Haus kann man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem erreichen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Flasche Wein abends auf der Terrasse auch. Vielen Dank Harald und Joel, gerne immer wieder.

| Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen Urlaubstage bei Euch. Es war unsere erste Reise nach Südfrankreich und wir sind ganz begeistert von der Vielfalt. Ausflüge ans Meer, in die Berge, Städtebesichtigungen, alles ist möglich und bequem in einer Stunde zu erreichen. Aber am schönsten ist es abends wieder zurück zu kommen und auf Eurer Terrasse einen guten Wein zu geniessen.

We booked a week in a self-catering room in mid June, and were delighted with the accommodation, the quiet scenic location, and the hospitality of Harald and Joel. They both seem to have the perfect balance of being attentive hosts without being intrusive. We had dinner on two nights, one meal just excelling the other due to Joel's perfectly cooked home grown courgettes! We enjoyed our strolls around the village and the surrounding countryside, and also our daily walk to the village boulangerie for fresh bread and croissants for breakfast.
We usually try new places when holidaying, but we intend to return to La Bastide des Templiers to visit 'old friends' and to see how the garden is coming along!

Our family of five stayed at La Bastide des Templiers in June 2008 and had the perfect stay. Our children (17, 14, and 11) very nearly cried when we had to leave. The house is remote and very quiet with a beautiful view of Bras from the pool deck. The house itself is new, and the owners have lavished many hours on every detail of the rooms and surrounding gardens. The entire setting, both inside and out, is so tranquil that I must admit I am glad there were no infant children staying there to spoil the calm. We ate two evening meals and both were delicious and served in the friendliest atmosphere. We felt very much like house guests, and not customers. So much like house guests that we felt like helping with the dishes after dinner. Breakfast on the sunny patio was the perfect way to start each slow and easy day. Harald provided excellent suggestions on beaches, shopping and surrounding sites. And the pool was a perfect way to wind down at the end of the day.
The house does not run a conventional restaurant so if you plan to eat there the first evening, make arrangements in advance. We did not do this, but Harald directed us to a delicious pizzeria in Bras. We enjoyed everything about our stay and it is definitely the only place we would stay in southern France. The Bastide des Templiers is so much more than a place to sleep. The calm. relaxing atmosphere is something we will remember and think about for years.

Es war ein super schönes Wochenende bei Harald & Joel. Lage, Unterkunft ist einfach traumhaft, besser kann man die Provence nicht erleben. Super nette Hosts, super leckeres Essen (die Ente ist zu empfehlen, noch nie haben wir so eine leckere Ente gegessen).
Wir können die Bastide des Templiers wärmstens empfehlen, vielleicht auch nicht, damit immer ein Zimmerchen für uns frei ist  !
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Provence is a beautiful place indeed, but La Bastide des Templiers is on the top of it. We feel lucky we could find this "paradise". And in addition, we got two friends in Harald and Joel. We came here as guests and leave as the members of their big family.
We hope we will meet again here or in our home.

Zum einem super Urlaub gehört auch eine super Unterkunft.
Unser Provence Aufenthalt war in allen Punkten gelungen.
Wesentlich dazu beigetragen haben Joel und Harald, unsere Gastgeber. Wir sind mit 3 Kinder im Alter von 9, 13 und 16 angereist. Alle waren begeistert.
Die Zimmer(wir hatten 2) waren sehr schön eingerichtet.
Der Service war mehr als überdurchschnittlich.
Die Lage des Hotels ist auch ideal um die Provence zu erkunden.
Perfekt!!

Der ideale Platz, um von hier aus die Provence zu entdecken! Eine mit viel Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail hergerichtete provencalische Bastide, gelegen in einem Pinienwald, umgeben von Joels liebevoll gepflegten Themengarten. Geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer - sehr sauber! Ideal für Selbstversorger - obwohl Hausbesitzer Harald auch gerne und ausgezeichnet kocht...
Wanderwege vor der Tür - ansonsten der optimale Ausgangspunkt für Touren mit dem Auto, dem Fahrrad oder Bus.

I feel I'm not going to do bastide des templiers justice here.
First, visit their website: This really does provide accurate photos and descriptions.
The cleanliness, affordable price and relaxing atmosphere were our expectations, and these were met. But this was only the tip of the iceberg.
The two guys who owned the place were amazing. Harald, the co-owner who picked us up from the bus station, took us on a couple day trips, and we only had to pay for gas. He talked with us for hours over breakfast about European politics, and waited with us for the bus when we left. He also sold us quality wine for 5.50 Euros (that means, without mark-up).
He helped us with everything, including mailing presents back home internationally, and we hung out with him a good deal, forgetting that we were his customers.
If you ever visit France, you'll probably go to Paris, but consider renting a car and staying at Fleur-du-cap instead. This way, you can relax, meet Harald and Joel, and see the Riviera, Nice, Avignon, Marseille, Verdun Canyon, Arles. In the same way that a professor makes or breaks a class, or a boss makes a job manageable or hell, the hotel you choose plays no small role in your travel experience. Harald and Joel and their Bed and Breakfast are, without a doubt, as good as they come. I would not say this about any other hotel.
By the way, in the winter, it is warm and only 55 Euros a night!!!

We stayed for four nights in "La Bastide des Templiers" B&B arriving at the 4th of August. We stayed in the 'Brise de Mer' room which had a very spacious bedroom and a small but adequate bathroom. The place was kept spotlessly clean by the perfect hosts Harald and Joël. The breakfast was served on the terrace in their lovely garden. The B&B is ideally located to visit any place in the Provence (Var) region. Harald and Joël were very keen to direct us to the most interesting places. La Bastide des Templiers is the perfect place to leave the world behind, no worries, no stress... Just enjoy the silence and relax.
The only minor things we can think of are the shower, which is a bit dark because it gets no direct light from the lamp in the bathroom. And the continental breakfast, which was very nice, but could even be nicer with a bit more variation (a wider range of bread and maybe a piece of fruit).
We regret not to have tasted their homecooking but we had the best meal in a long long time at a local place that they recommended, they even made the reservation for us!
Unfortunately we had to leave after 'only' four nights; the next time we'll make our reservations earlier in the year to make sure we can stay longer

| "La Bastide des Templiers" is undoubtedly the best property I and my family have ever been to during our trips around Europe. There are several things that make this property so distinct comparing to the others. First of all it is the lokation. B. des T. is situated in astonishing and untouched nature of Provence. This makes it ideal for those wishing to explore and discover Provence witthout being hassled by the mass tourism. Secondly, it is the old traditional way in which is this newly built property is constructed. Thanks to that it fits perfectly into the pitoresque scenery of the small village of Bras. And last but not least, it is the personal approach of the management and service it provides for its clients. The result is friendly and welcoming atmosphere which makes you feel sad about going home. Althout the acces route might be tough for some types of vehicules at the moment I deeply recommend this property to every person visiting the region of Provence.
